EXTRA CREDIT

Before You Begin
These subjects are for practicing.

These subjects are selected not because they are great subjects, but because they offer specific painting challenges. You do not have to have a special affection for these subjects to paint them. They serve only as a means to develop your painting skills.

Use the block and blend technique taught in class.

Drawing the foundation contour lines first, then the value zones.

Do not get lost in details. Look at the overall form and notice the light areas, mid-tone areas and dark areas.

Go slow. Take more time at the beginning to get it right.

Your finished painting can be 8” x 10” as we do in class, but it doesn't have to be.  It can be whatever size you wish.

I have not specified colors for these subjects. I will leave it to your experimentation.

Use color swatch cards.
