Here is a rough guide for lighting for painting
All you need are a couple clamp-on desk lights with halogen bulbs. Halogen bulbs are middle spectrum in color so they are good all-purpose painting bulbs. Consider that most paintings are viewed in house, which is warmer lighting, so you do not want daylight bulbs, which is cooler.
Clamp the lights on the easel or on anything that will support them near your painting. I know one artist who uses a stand up floor lamp. Myself, I have track lighting. One system is no better than another. Keep it easy and inexpensive.
