WOODLAND PARK

Der Sunday Painters,

As we discussed in class last week, our Sunday classes will be held outside through the summer. Still at 1:30 to 4:00pm. The current forecast is for about 70º for this coming Sunday but I will update you later on that.

We will meet at Woodland Park

1000 N. 50th, Seattle, WA

It's adjacent to the playing fields on the south west side of Green Lake

Enter from 50th. Be alert, the driveway is small with small signage.

It is near the zoo, but it is not the zoo. 

When you enter the park, it is a one-way road that loops around in a continuous circle, so there is no way to get lost.

To find our location in the park, look for my green van with this sign on the back window. We will be somewhere near the van.

We will be working on picnic tables. I'll bring a few stools and tables too.

If you are an experienced plein air painter you are welcome to bring your plein air gear. But our class will remain primarily a "studio" class working from photos. Though I will do some plein air demos in the future.

My idea is that this will be our regular meeting place because there are lots of table, shade and bathroom. 

On weekdays the park is very quiet. But since we will be there on Sundays I have no idea how crowded it will be. 

I will always give you a class update a few days before class in case anything changes.

In general, here are conditions for canceling:

• Rain

• Wet ground or wet picnic tables

• Too cold or too hot: Below 70º and we may reschedule. And above 85 and we will reschedule.

• Extreme wind

If you are going to miss a class, it would help me logistically if you could let me know at least one day in advance.

Bring water and a snack if you wish.
